I sometimes call that "helicopter teach...Amen! I sometimes call that "helicopter teaching", and we all know what most teachers think about "helicopter parents." I've asked my students which is more important - getting the answer right but not understanding the concept, or eventually understanding the concept even if you missed it on the assignment/project/quiz/test/whatever.
